The Events
There are many different events held at the various Golfstravaganza tournaments and corporate events. Below is a brief description and outline of the events, along with links to other resources for learning more about the events.
Not all events are guaranteed to show up at all Golfstravaganza tournaments, with the exception of Golf. For corporate events, tournament formats can be tailored to your particular request.
Golf
Golf is a club and ball sport where players use clubs to hit a ball towards and into a series of holes on a course. It is also the most frustrating sport ever invented.
Depending on the Golfstravaganza tournament, we will sometimes play beginner-level pitch-and-putt courses where you'll only need a couple of clubs, novice-level par 3 courses where every hole is a par 3, or a 36- or 72-par course for the more expereinced golfers in our more challenging tournaments.
Foot Golf
Foot golf is played in the same way as regular golf, except you use your feet to kick a soccer ball into a hole 21" in diameter.
Foot golf is generally played on the same course we play golf at Golfstravaganza, and depending on the course, can vary in difficulty. Players are required to use a size 5 soccer ball when playing foot golf.
Darts Golf
Scoring for darts golf is pretty straight forward, but requires more explanation than we can fit in this tiny box. Please check out these rules for the game and if you have any questions, we're happy to explain further at Golfstravaganza.
Video Game Golf
Golden Tee is the game of choice. If you've never played it, it's time you do!
Disc Golf
Disc golf is played by throwing a flying disc into a chain-linked basket in as few throws (strokes) as possible.
They make discs specifically for disc golf, but you are not required to use these discs. A regular old frisbee would be just fine, but if you go this route, we recommend buying at 175g frisbee, as anything lighter won't do much for you! Check Amazon or other online retailers if you're interested in disc golf discs, or email us for recommendations.
Mini Golf
Mini golf, also sometimes referred to as putt-putt, is played only with a putter on a course of short holes that feature a variety of obstacles you must avoid (or take advantage of) to get the ball into the hole.
You're allowed to use your own putter or one from the course for Golfstravaganza. However, you must use the mini golf balls provided by the course and not your own.
Goofy Golf
Throw everything you now about playing regular golf out the window. Prepare yourself for the unexpected as you tangle with distractions and unusual ways to complete the golf hole in as few strokes as possible, sometimes while multitasking. You won't know what's in store.
This is a new event that we feature only at Golfstravaganza Lite.
Pub Golf
You have one beer which represents a golf hole. You get however many drinks you need to finish that beer. However many drinks it took, that's how many strokes you get for that beer (hole). If you chug the beer, that's a hole in one.
If you can't or don't drink, we are happy to make other arrangements for this event.
Mini Games
Each Golfstravaganza event features a series of mini games designed to give players bonus points or shave strokes off their final score. Mini games vary in their degree of difficulty, but are always a fun challenge that adds a wrinkle to the game.
