Golfstravaganza 6 will be held on July 20, 2019. 

The current slate of events for Golfstravaganza 6 includes:

  • Disc Golf

  • Foot Golf

  • Mini Golf

7:30 AM

Check in at Sellwood Post Office (6723 SE 16th Ave), collect event materials, review the rules and Q&A, load bus.

8:00 AM

Bus leaves for first location

8:30 AM

Event #1: Disc Golf ( @ Lunchtime Disc Golf Course)

Bus leaves for next event at 9:45 AM

10:30 AM

Event #2: Golf ( @ Lake Oswego Golf Course)

12:30 PM

3:00 PM

Event #4: Mini Golf ( @ Oaks Park)

Rules

​General Rules

  1. ​All participants must wear at least one visible piece of plaid or argyle

  2. Full participation in all events is required. Limited exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis. 

  3. Have fun and be cool to your fellow golfers! This event is ultimately fun first, competition second. Treat others with kindness, comradarie, and respect. 

  4. Golfers must submit their score cards for each round at the completion of that round to one of the event coordinators. 

Gameplay and Scoring

  • You compete as a two-person team in Golfstravaganza.

  • Your team's place in the final standings is determined based on your individual performances in the various events.

  • For each event, all individuals will be ranked based on strokes required to complete that event.

  • Depending on your placement in the event standings, you will be awarded a certain number of points.

  • You will combine your individual points with your teammate's points to get your team's combined score for that event.

  • At the end of Golfstravaganza, your team's combined event scores will be added together (along with any points from bonus opportunities or penalties [see below]) to determine your final score. The team with the highest total score will be declared the winner of Golfstravaganza. 

Scoring Breakdown

For Golfstravaganza 6, the scoring breakdown will range from 10 points for the winner of an event to 1 point to the player who got last place in the event. All other players, ranked 2 through 35 will have some number between 10 and 1.

Bogey Bonus Point!

If you want to earn an extra point for your team before the event even starts, head over to Lompoc Brewery, one of our awesome sponsors, at 3901 N Williams Ave or 1621 SE Bybee Blvd), order a pint or cocktail, snap a selfie and post it to Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #golfstravaganza and tag @golfstravaganza in your post, and your team will be awarded an extra point towards your final score at Golfstravaganza 6! 

Pub Golf Bonus Points

At the end of every round, each player will have the opportunity to gamble some of their team's points by competing in the pub golf bonus. You have the option of attempting to drink an entire 12 oz can provided by the event coordinators in one chug. If you are able to do this, this counts as a hole in 1, and your team will be awarded 1 bonus point. If it takes you 2 chugs, you will not be awarded any bonus points, nor will you be penalized. However, if you attempt this, and cannot complete the beer in less than 3 chugs, your team will be penalized one 1 point against your final score. You also have the option of not attempting this bonus at all for whatever reason you may choose. Your team has the opportunity to add a total of 8 points to your final score in this event. 

Equipment Required and Suggested

  • Golf clubs for a par 3 golf course

    • This should include a couple of irons, a wedge, and a putter.

    • Space on the bus is limited, so please don’t bring a full set of golf clubs if possible.

  • A size 5 soccer ball

  • Disc golf disc(s) and/or any frisbee item

    • We recommend using disc golf discs but you should be fine with a regular frisbee.

    • If you do not have any discs, we have a limited quantity available for rent for $5 the day of. These are first come, first served, so please email us at golfstravaganza@gmail.com right away if you want to rent a disc.

  • Cash or card for incidentals and dinner and drinks at the closing ceremonies party.

  • Jacket or umbrella in the event of some rain (we’re playing rain or shine!)

  • Light snacks in case you get hungry between meals

  • A fully charged mobile phone and a USB battery charger if you want some extra backup.

  • As with all of our events, make sure you're wearing at least one visible piece of argyle or plaid! Instead of a penalty you will be rewarded and get team bonus points! These are very important for any competing team.

  • Weather: This is a Fall event so please be aware that it will probably be a little chilly in the morning and slowly warm up through the day. Currently it looks clear but as you know things change every day so please prepare for possible wet conditions. A good start will be water resistant footwear and no cleats on the courses.
